Yamaha is a Japanese business established by Torakusu Yamaha in 1887. The first products of this company were keyboard instruments – organs, and pianos later.
Nowadays, the company produces and provides services in many fields. These are: music, electronics and motors. Despite this, the music field still remains the main and the strongest part of the corporation.

The history of Yamaha starts with building the first Torakusu Yamaha organs in 1887. Three years later, the piano production began. The first piano built in this factory was the first Japanese piano as well. After about ten years, Yamaha stock went into Stock Exchange in Tokyo. In 1954 the company began to produce Hi-Fi audio systems and established Yamaha Music School. One year later, the Yamaha motor branch was created. It is responisble for producing motorcycles. To the end of XX century the consortium expanded production to electric organs, wind instruments, semiconductors and related lifestyle goods. To celebrate one hundred years of activity the company changed its name to Yamaha Corporation.
In 2005 Steinberg Media Technologies was attached to Yamaha. Three years later also Bösendorfer became a part of them. All of the Yamaha factories were moved to Kakegawa in Japan in 2010.

Keys and pedals are pushed with precise power and in correct time by a special mechanism. This way it plays particular songs. It can be used as an ordinary grand piano as well. It allows to record the song by playing it, and then being able to replay it afterwards.

Verticals
Almost all models, except SU118 are available in Silent Piano version. You can switch them from acoustic mechanism to digital. This way its possible to play with headphones plugged into the piano, and be heard only for yourself.
SH series have different tones. CFX Yamaha concert grand piano samled pattern included.
SG2 series also have different tones, whereas the piano pattern is sampled from Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand piano.
